The TRU programme is enhancing the capability of the rail network across the North of England, providing infrastructure capability to support:
Improvements in journey times of up to 15 minutes between Manchester Victoria to York via Leeds.
Increased capacity through faster and more frequent services with increased direct links between Northern cities.
Performance at a level necessary to support the agreed national performance target of 92.5% PPM.
Introduction of electric trains on the route from Manchester Victoria and Guide Bridge to York and Selby.
SEMP are the systems engineering delivery partner for the Transpennine Rail Upgrade programme, working with Network Rail and Jacobs. We are defining and implementing a systems engineering lifecycle and process across the railway capability, TRU programme integration and alliance delivery layers.
We are currently delivering the key systems engineering products to support the GRIP stages up to Option Selection including the operations and maintenance concepts, system of systems capability management, requirements and verification & validation products, RAM, and safety, migration strategy and configuration management. SEMP are also representing the programme in relation to systems engineering at key industry forums and with regulatory bodies.
